WP5: a) Identify and b) Define Broadband Pilots

Objectives

The objective is to identify and define broadband pilots using digital content from a) memory insitutions and b) virtual/augmented reality (e.g. research results from IST, FET), which can be used for teaching and inspire new research.

Description of Work

The National Museum Directors’ Conference and SCRAN will identify and define brodband content pilots relating to memory institutions. The supercomputing facilities of Italy and Spain (CINECA, and Universidad Complutense de Madrid) will identify/define broadband content pilots with respect to virtual/augmented reality, examining technical requirements for a) interoperability of such projects and b) for access to such projects by other members of the network with less computational power.

O Conference 1 PP
O Conference 2 PP

Milestones and expected results

The milestones will be a report identifying broadband pilots from memory institutions (month 4) and from virtual/augmented reality (month 4). These will discussed by all the members at a conference (month 5). Two more reports (month 11) will further define these pilots and be discussed by all the members at a second conference (month 12).

The result will be awareness of materials which can be used for future teaching and also inspire  future research.
